The University of Lübeck needed to expand its digital campus storage to support growing demands from teaching, research, clinical services, and more than 150 VMware-based applications. Its existing storage lacked sufficient capacity and performance, and compatibility with legacy systems was a key concern. Huawei was selected after an open bid process, with the OceanStor S5500T as the proposed storage platform.

Huawei implemented the OceanStor S5500T, a high-performance storage solution with 25 TB capacity, SAS/SATA support, and VMware certifications including VAAI, VASA, and SRM. The deployment integrated with legacy storage and was implemented without service interruption, delivering up to 5x faster performance, 24/7 reliable operation, lower TCO, and scalable capacity for future growth at the University of Lübeck.
