Leading Media Company Secures Its Future in IPTV

Mediaset Group, Italy’s largest commercial broadcaster, needed to modernize its IT infrastructure to support the growing shift toward internet-based TV and IPTV services. Its existing network was fragmented, heavily outsourced, costly to operate, and lacked the flexibility and capacity required for future digital delivery, so it turned to Huawei for a more scalable and reliable platform.

Huawei implemented an end-to-end IP vertical solution built around CloudEngine 6800 Series Data Center Switches, NetEngine 40E Series Universal Service Routers, and FusionServer RH2288 V3 rack servers, supported by MediaPower and BT. The new infrastructure improved performance and reliability, reduced management and running costs in the last financial year, and helped Mediaset build a future-proof foundation for its IPTV strategy with trouble-free operation after deployment.
