Wuxi Telecom, a branch of China Telecom in Wuxi, needed to repurpose idle PSTN equipment rooms created by network consolidation into revenue-generating IDC space. The company faced tight delivery timelines, limited power supply, a PUE target of 1.5 or below, and the need to maximize the number of IT cabinets in constrained space.

Huawei responded with a distributed data center solution using FusionModule2000 micro modules and unified network management/DC2 scheduling to transform the old PSTN rooms into IDC facilities. Huawei delivered seven prefabricated micro modules with 232 IT cabinets in one month, reused existing power infrastructure, increased space efficiency by 20% versus traditional solutions, and achieved a measured PUE of 1.36 at 32°C, enabling Wuxi Telecom to expand cloud-ready hosting capacity and future service growth.
