Huawei Steps In to Keep Russian Economy Stable

The National System of Payment Cards (NSPC), operated by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, needed to rapidly build a secure, highly reliable national payment processing infrastructure after Visa and MasterCard stopped services in Russia. Facing an urgent rollout deadline and the need to support bank card, ATM, and online transactions at national scale, NSPC turned to Huawei for an end-to-end data center and network solution.

Huawei designed and deployed the NSPC’s data center platform using CloudEngine 12800 series switches, more than 100 x86 servers, 2.8 PB of storage, and an active-active, TRILL- and EVN-based architecture with reciprocal DR sites. The solution delivered high availability, no single points of failure, and scalable capacity for future growth, supporting around 10 million transactions per day and enabling the NSPC to launch on April 1, 2015.
