A Huawei Case Study
The Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China needed to modernize its core IT infrastructure to handle growing volumes of fiscal, tax, and auditing data, support virtualization, and ensure extremely high reliability for critical public finance systems. Its legacy mini-computer-based database environment was struggling with performance, concurrency, and availability requirements, including a target annual high-availability rate of 99.99%.
Huawei implemented FusionServer RH5885 V3 4-socket rack servers and RH8100 V3 8-socket servers, along with Huawei FusionSphere Cloud OS, to create a more stable, virtualized, and fault-tolerant platform. The new environment achieved 99.99% high availability, improved service performance for Treasury and office automation systems, and reduced service deployment and provisioning time from at least one day to about two hours.
