Preview of the Wasu Digital TV Media Group Case Study

Huawei Servers Expand Media Company Cloud

Wasu Digital TV Media Group, a major Chinese media company building a large digital content library and expanding into cloud services, needed to replace costly universal 2U rack servers that were not well suited to its cloud host and CDN workloads. The company wanted stronger support for Alibaba’s cloud platform and a customized server environment for a nationwide CDN rollout.

Huawei provided two tailored server platforms: the RH2285 V2 for Wasu’s cloud host infrastructure and the RH2288 V2, customized for the CDN system. With Huawei’s servers, Wasu improved resource utilization and efficiency, gained a more elastic and highly available digital platform, and accelerated the growth of its new services; the case study also notes Wasu had been spending more than 10 million CNY annually on servers before the upgrade.
