Huawei Intelligent Network Directs Traffic

Xi’an Traffic Management Bureau worked with Huawei to address severe urban congestion and an outdated surveillance network that relied on disparate DVRs across 12,000 sites. The bureau needed a more intelligent, scalable traffic management system that could support real-time monitoring, quick retrieval, video playback, and better use of existing infrastructure.

Huawei implemented a customized SAN storage-based intelligent surveillance solution with video encoders, video servers, and centralized storage across 11 sub-command centers. The new system enabled unified data storage and real-time dispatch from the central command center, reduced construction and maintenance costs, improved data security through redundancy, and supported future expansion. It also helped Xi’an achieve its goal of relieving traffic congestion within three years.
