Huawei HPC Solution Accelerates Efficiency

Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting (BGP), a global geophysical services leader and subsidiary of CNPC, needed a high-performance computing platform to handle seismic data processing workloads that depend on heavy floating-point computation, multi-core scalability, and fast concurrent I/O. Huawei provided the HPC foundation to support these demanding oil and gas applications, including FusionServer RH2288 V3 rack servers.

Huawei implemented a parallel cluster system for BGP using 133 Huawei RH2288H V3 servers, OceanStor 9000 storage, SSD storage, and Ethernet switches. The solution delivered up to 24.96 TFlops of computing performance with 88% LINPACK efficiency, helping BGP boost resource utilization, cut service computing time from days to hours, and significantly reduce processing errors.
