Huawei Helps BUC Construct a Modern Campus Network

Badr University in Cairo (BUC) is a leading university in Egypt facing rapid growth in students and mobile devices, with wireless traffic increasing about 20% annually. This created strain on its existing network, causing issues such as frozen HD video conferencing, poor VoIP quality, and slow access to teaching resources. Huawei was brought in to help modernize the campus network and WLAN.

Huawei implemented a wireless campus solution with a rebuilt three-layer campus architecture, upgraded core and access bandwidth, and high-density WLAN coverage using products such as Huawei S9712 Agile Switches, AP5030DN, and AP8130DN. The new design improved reliability through CSS-based redundancy, supported gigabit access, and increased outdoor AP user capacity by 40% and wireless bandwidth by 50%, helping teachers and students access learning resources more conveniently while strengthening BUC’s ICT capabilities.
