Abraxas, a Swiss ICT integrator and cloud service provider for government and enterprise customers, needed to modernize its cloud data center network to handle rapidly growing demand for Internet services. Its challenge was to integrate resources more efficiently, support scalable data center interconnect (DCI), and prepare the network for an SDN-based architecture. Huawei’s CloudFabric Data Center Network Solution was selected to help address these needs.

Huawei implemented a multi-tenant cloud data center design using CloudEngine core switches, TRILL inside each data center, EVN across three data centers, and virtual systems (VSs) to isolate and multiplex services. The result was a fully virtualized, flexible, and scalable network that improved resource utilization, enabled VM migration and disaster recovery, and protected Abraxas’ investment through smooth network evolution. Huawei’s CE switches also support up to 16 million tenants in a single data center and deliver up to 160 Tbit/s switching capacity on the CE12800 series.
