Huawei Helps AATVET of Ethiopia Build First Vocational Education Interconnected ICT Network

AATVET (Alage Agricultural, Technical, Vocational, and Educational Training College) in Ethiopia wanted to modernize vocational education by connecting schools with an advanced ICT network. The institution faced limited ICT use across vocational schools, uneven teaching quality, and difficulty enabling remote learning, online video education, and timely collaboration with international experts. Huawei’s campus network solution, including S12700 Series Agile Switches and WLAN products, was chosen to support the first phase of interconnecting 12 vocational schools.

Huawei implemented a high-bandwidth, scalable campus network with access, aggregation, and core layers, combining wired and wireless networking, gigabit access, Wi‑Fi coverage, and centralized management. The solution improved reliability with CSS2 technology, expanded wireless coverage in high-density and outdoor areas, and simplified O&M while supporting future growth. Huawei reported up to 50% efficiency improvement for centrally managed wired and wireless networks, while the AP4030DN increased per-user bandwidth by 70% and the AP8130DN boosted wireless bandwidth by 50% and access users by 30%.
