A Huawei Case Study
National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), a public research university in Pakistan, wanted to build a secure, easy-to-manage electric exam system for hundreds of students. The university faced three main challenges: protecting the server-PC setup from viruses and hacker attacks, keeping costs down despite a large PC deployment, and delivering the system within one month. To meet these needs, NUST turned to Huawei and its FusionAccess cloud-based virtual desktop solution.
Huawei implemented FusionAccess with E6000 blade servers, S5500T SAN storage, and S5700 network equipment to create a secure VDI-based exam platform. The solution centralized computing and storage, added multi-layer security across terminals, network, cloud, data, and management, and simplified deployment and O&M through centralized management. As a result, NUST launched the system in just two weeks, improved maintenance efficiency by 40%, reduced problem resolution time from hours to minutes, and gained a scalable platform for future growth.
