Huawei eLTE Helps Protect a Scenic River

Lijiang Police of Guilin needed a better way to monitor and secure the Li River scenic area, where growing tourist traffic, limited police resources, and poor real-time visibility led to safety and environmental problems. Huawei provided the eLTE solution to help the police strengthen communication and surveillance along the 83-kilometer waterways.

Huawei’s eLTE broadband network delivered voice, video, and data over a single wireless network, supporting high-resolution cameras, visualized dispatch, and communication between patrol boats, the command boat, and the shore control center. After deployment in 2013, accident rates dropped by 50% and emergency response efficiency improved by 30%, while Lijiang Police also built a digital information system to support offshore and onshore monitoring with fewer than 60 staff.
