Huawei Electrifies Grid Management

State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), the world’s largest electric utility, needed to scale its grid management infrastructure to support both real-time and non-real-time workloads. Its existing x86 servers running a customized secure Linux OS also had to be replaced without modification, while meeting strict government reliability standards and handling massive data growth and high-speed sensor data flows.

Huawei worked with application partners to validate compatibility and then deployed RH2485 V2 servers for real-time SCADA and EMS systems, E6000 blade servers for non-real-time applications, and OceanStor S5600T storage for redundant, high-performance data protection. The solution delivered the required reliability and speed, including support for 100,000 IOPS data acquisition and 200,000 IOPS overall storage throughput, while helping SGCC meet availability and response-time requirements with a stable platform that SGCC has used successfully for years.
