Huawei Desktop Cloud Helps Hong Kong Airlines Flies High

Hong Kong Airlines (HKA), a fast-growing Hong Kong-based airline, needed to modernize its office IT environment as its fleet, flights, and service traffic expanded. Its 500 traditional PCs were costly to maintain, power-hungry, difficult to secure, and slow to deploy, creating pressure to improve efficiency and support its “Digital Aviation” strategy. HKA turned to Huawei and its cloud-desktop technology to address these challenges.

Huawei implemented the Huawei FusionCloud desktop cloud solution, using a cloud data center plus thin clients with FusionCompute, FusionAccess, and FusionManager to centralize management and desktop delivery. The result was more than 70% lower power consumption, up to 350,000 kWh in annual energy savings, over 10 times better operations and maintenance efficiency, and more than 30 times faster VM deployment, while also improving security through centralized data storage and encrypted access.
