Huawei D5000 Keeps Grid Powered Up

State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), the world’s largest utility company, needed a more powerful and secure IT infrastructure to support its increasingly complex Smart Grid and dispatching operations. To address the lack of high-performance servers and the need for a highly reliable platform, SGCC looked for a unified system to support its Energy Management System, Dispatching Operation Management System, Dispatching Operation Planning System, and related services.

Huawei implemented the D5000 unified platform using its RH2488, RH2285, and E6000 servers. Huawei’s solution delivered high-density computing, redundant hardware architecture, and optimized performance for database, monitoring, and simulation workloads, helping improve reliability, reduce interoperability bottlenecks, and lower O&M costs. Huawei also cut IT construction costs by using high-density servers that occupied half the equipment room space of standard servers.
