Huawei Constructs an Elite Wi-Fi Network for Century City InterContinental Hotels

InterContinental Century City, a major IHG hospitality complex in Chengdu that includes multiple hotels and a large convention center, needed a high-speed, secure, and easy-to-manage Wi-Fi experience across guest rooms, meeting spaces, dining areas, and public zones. The challenge was to deliver consistent connectivity for business and leisure guests while minimizing disruption to hotel operations and maintaining the property’s premium experience. Huawei implemented a tailored wireless network with agile switches featuring integrated AC functions, specialized APs for guest rooms, high-density areas, and elevators, plus a survey-free deployment model using PoE and automated radio optimization. Huawei’s solution improved roaming and access consistency across wired and wireless networks, strengthened security against wireless threats, and reduced O&M complexity and onsite disruption. The convention center AP design supported concurrent access for up to 100 users, helping deliver reliable connectivity for large events and enhancing guest satisfaction.
