Case Study: Chongqing Rail Transit achieves a secure, reliable metro information network with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) Case Study

Huawei Builds Core of Metro Info Network

Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT), a large state-owned metro operator in Chongqing, needed a high-quality Passenger Information System (PIS) to support its expanding rail network. As passenger traffic and network demands grew, CRT faced challenges around higher data volumes, protecting prior investments, and ensuring strong security and reliability for critical information displays and communications.

Huawei designed and built the PIS network using LAN switches and security gateways, including S9300 and S7700 switches plus USG5120 BSR and USG5320 gateways. Huawei’s solution added a three-layer core/aggregation/access architecture, 1+1 redundancy, and fast failover technology with 10 ms fault detection and 50 ms switchover, helping CRT deliver a secure, stable, and scalable information platform for continued Metro growth.
