Huawei Builds 100G SDN Campus Network for KMITL of Thailand

King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), a leading science and technology university in Thailand, needed to modernize its campus network to support high-performance education services, open cloud architecture, distributed storage, and strong security. The university also faced space constraints in its equipment room, making a compact and efficient infrastructure essential. Huawei responded with a software-defined campus network approach using Agile Controller, campus switches, routers, and next-generation firewalls.

Huawei implemented an SDN-based campus network and container-based data center, combining VXLAN, 100G non-blocking forwarding, FusionStorage, and OceanStor 9000 to support virtualization, storage, and security requirements. The result was a unified physical network with isolated virtual networks for different departments, improved wired and wireless user experience, and easier deployment within limited space. Huawei’s solution also enabled KMITL to create a benchmark 100G SDN campus network for other universities.
