A Huawei Case Study
Hunchun City, a border city in Southeast Jilin Province, faced traditional urban management challenges such as unclear responsibilities, scattered resources, low efficiency, and weak citizen satisfaction. Huawei addressed these issues with its eCity solution to help the city modernize management and improve service delivery.
Huawei implemented a digital city management system based on wireless communications, GIS, workflow, and networking, using a grid-based and component-based management model. The new process streamlined information collection, task assignment, feedback, verification, and case closing, helping Hunchun reach a 90% handling rate for urban management issues by September 2009, resolve persistent sanitation problems, reduce management costs, and improve public participation.
