Huawei Anti-DDoS Solution Shields Alibaba

Alibaba Group faced constant and growing exposure to malicious network attacks, including large-scale DDoS attacks that could disrupt services, overload infrastructure, and threaten customer transactions during peak events like Singles’ Day. To address this challenge, Alibaba worked with Huawei and evaluated Huawei’s Anti-DDoS Solution as part of its cloud security strategy.

Huawei’s Anti-DDoS Solution successfully defended against Alibaba’s live-network attack samples and was easy for Alibaba’s engineers to deploy and manage, thanks to tenant-based protection policies, traffic models, and reporting features. Huawei’s solution cleared attack traffic in as little as two seconds without impacting customer services, and it has since helped Alibaba withstand more than 100 DDoS attacks per day, or over 40,000 per year, including attacks ranging from 500 Mbit/s to 19 Gbit/s.
