Huawei Anti-DDoS Boosts Online Banking

China Everbright Bank (CEB), a nationwide commercial bank in China, needed to strengthen its data center security to support 24/7 banking services across online, telephone, self-service, enterprise, and mobile channels. The bank faced a major challenge in defending against DDoS attacks, while also dealing with slow detection and response times and a lack of a simple, reliable anti-DDoS defense system. Huawei addressed these needs with its USG 5300 anti-DDoS solution.

Huawei implemented a solution that protects CEB’s data center at the management, detection, and cleaning levels, using fast traffic self-learning, deep packet inspection, and ATIC-based layered filtering. The deployment separated detection and cleaning centers for better reliability and offered flexible defense modes to support new services without disrupting the existing network. As a result, CEB achieved “zero” network security incidents from DDoS attacks on its online services, improved bandwidth utilization, reduced risk to service continuity, and increased customer satisfaction.
