Huawei and Partners Develop ‘Smart Longgang’

Longgang City, a district of Shenzhen, China, needed a smarter way to manage rapid growth, a large transient population, traffic congestion, uneven educational resources, and rising demands for better public services. Huawei partnered with the district to address these challenges with a Smart City solution built on ICT technologies including IoT, big data, cloud computing, and mobile Internet.

Huawei and its partners implemented “Smart Longgang,” a Smart City ecosystem based on a Device + Network + Database + Image + Cloud architecture. The solution unified basic databases, created a 2D/3D/live spatio-temporal information-sharing platform, and launched cross-agency service and planning systems. Results included district-wide data sharing, stronger urban security, unified planning from more than 100 data sources, and a one-window government service system integrating services from 30 agencies and raising public satisfaction to 95%.
