Case Study: Dubai Airports builds a smart airport with Huawei’s modular data center solution

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Dubai Airports Case Study

Huawei and Partners Build Smart Airport in Dubai

Dubai Airports, one of the world’s busiest international hubs, needed to expand digital capacity and improve passenger experience despite limited space, hot weather, legacy systems from multiple vendors, and rising traffic demand. To support its DXB Plus program and future growth, the airport turned to Huawei and its FusionModule1000B prefabricated modular data center, along with Huawei’s Smart Data Center Facilities Solution.

Huawei delivered a 1 MW modular data center complex built from 23 prefabricated modules, designed for quick deployment, flexible expansion, and high efficiency. The new facility was certified by the Uptime Institute to Tier III for design and construction, targeted 99.98% availability, and was completed in about 10 months—roughly half the time and cost of a traditional data center. Huawei also helped Dubai Airports reduce designed PUE to below 1.6, simplify operations, and support reliable airport services across flight information, baggage, surveillance, connectivity, and enterprise systems.
