Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, one of Asia’s largest hotel companies, needed a better platform to deliver and manage guest services as demand grew. Its existing systems were old, costly, hard to manage, and lacked support for newer needs like convenient check-in, wireless Internet access, IP phone service, intelligent room management, telepresence, and stronger security. Huawei provided the technology foundation for the upgrade.

Huawei implemented an all-IP optical network using GPON technology, unifying voice, data, and video on one communications platform and integrating IP PBX with property management and hospitality services. The new system added agile Wi-Fi, smart tablet controls, IPTV, richer video conferencing, and improved hotel management functions, while lowering downtime by 7% to 8% and reducing operating overhead for a lower TCO.
