Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), one of China’s “Big 4” commercial banks, was handling rapidly growing transaction volumes across 23,400 branches and more than 420 million customers. To keep up with demand while controlling costs, ABC needed to replace expensive midrange systems and reduce the large share of its budget spent on servers, especially for production, testing, and branch applications.
