FusionModule1000A Container Data Center Strikes Gold

Hatch, working for Kinross Gold’s Tasiast mine in Mauritania, faced a growing IT infrastructure challenge: its existing fixed-mode data center was already full, expansion was needed, and traditional data center construction would be costly, slow, and difficult to relocate in a harsh desert mining environment. Huawei was brought in to help address the need for a more flexible, mobile, and efficient solution.

Huawei implemented the FusionModule1000A All-in-One Container Data Center, a Tier 3 containerized system with built-in power, cooling, security, fire control, and IT cabinets designed for harsh conditions. The result was a one-week installation, 40% lower initial investment costs, PUE reduced to below 1.5, 24/7 unattended operation, and 30% lower O&M costs, while also making the data center easy to deploy and relocate as needed.
