FusionCloud and Hong Kong Airlines Fly High

Hong Kong Airlines (HKA), a fast-growing airline serving more than 30 cities in Asia and Europe, needed to modernize its office IT environment as fleet size, flight volume, and service traffic increased. Its existing 500-PC setup was difficult to maintain, consumed a lot of power, posed security risks, and took too long to deploy. HKA worked with Huawei to explore a cloud-based desktop solution for its office system.

Huawei implemented the FusionCloud Desktop Cloud solution, using a cloud data center and thin clients with FusionCompute, FusionAccess, and FusionManager to centrally manage virtual desktops. The new setup improved O&M efficiency by more than 10 times, cut deployment time by more than 30 times, reduced power consumption by over 70% and up to 350,000 kWh per year, and strengthened security by keeping data centralized in the data center rather than on PCs.
