The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), a leading research and innovation institution in China, needed a highly reliable, high-capacity email storage system to support nearly 100,000 users across more than 20 provinces and municipalities. Its challenge was to handle rapidly growing email data, protect valuable scientific communications, and ensure fast access to frequently used messages.

Huawei provided CAS with a clustered N8000 Network Attached Storage (NAS) system for the email platform. The solution delivered massive scalable storage, dynamic hierarchical data migration to move hotspot data to faster FC disks, and key data mirroring for redundancy. As a result, CAS improved email transmission and access speeds by several times, maintained stable service operation, and safeguarded critical data with strong reliability.
