Criteo expands capacity for Big Data services

Criteo, the French global technology company behind personalized performance advertising, needed to expand its highly data-intensive Hadoop environment as demand grew and its existing cluster became too small. The company wanted to test alternative hardware vendors for a new big data infrastructure, including Huawei and its FusionServer.

Huawei supplied FusionServer, a 2U dual-socket rack-mounted server, and Criteo benchmarked it against competing systems on performance, Linux compatibility, power usage, and driver support. Huawei came out strongest, offering the highest hard-drive density at 16 drives per server and 20% lower power consumption than its nearest rival, leading Criteo to add Huawei servers to its worldwide catalogue and deploy them across its US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific sites.
