Mackenzie Presbyterian University, the largest private university in Brazil, needed a more scalable and reliable data center to support growing HD classrooms, Internet TV services, and data sharing across more than 30 departments. Its existing infrastructure lacked disaster recovery, could not meet high-density requirements, and needed to keep costs and energy use under control. Huawei was selected to help modernize the university’s IT environment with a containerized data center and storage solution.

Huawei implemented a container Data Center Storage solution featuring a modular container data center and the Huawei N8300 cluster NAS system. The new setup was deployed in four months, reduced the PUE to 1.55, cut energy consumption by 30%, and lowered initial fixed investment by 40%. It also enabled more than 2 million hours of HD video storage, improved file sharing across departments, and created a highly scalable platform that can grow to over 15 PB.
