CNPC Boosts Enterprise Management Expertise

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is a major international energy company that needed to improve ERP productivity across exploration, refining, sales, pipeline, equipment manufacturing, and financial systems. As data volumes grew, CNPC’s data warehouse became too slow for timely analytics and reporting, creating bottlenecks in database read/write performance and delaying access to key KPI data. Huawei’s SAP HANA Appliance Solution was selected to address these challenges.

Huawei implemented its SAP HANA Appliance Solution on FusionCube hyper-converged infrastructure, using SAP HANA memory database software, FusionStorage distributed block storage, ES3000 PCIe SSD cards, and a 56 Gbit/s InfiniBand network. The results included data persistence latency as low as 150 microseconds, support for up to 1,000 concurrent tasks, roughly a sixfold increase in storage network bandwidth, 50% higher database loading performance, and a reduction in complex query time from 17 seconds to 3 seconds.
