Case Study: Karamay Government improves public safety with Huawei Cloud Computing

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Karamay Government Case Study

Cloud Computing Keeps “Oil City” Safe

Karamay Government in China’s northwest oil city wanted to build a comprehensive “safe city” platform to reduce crime and support its goal of becoming the “world’s oil city.” The existing public security systems were siloed across departments, surveillance devices came from different vendors, and the government needed stronger data security and better tools for querying and analyzing large volumes of public security data. Huawei was brought in to help address these challenges.

Huawei implemented a comprehensive safe city solution built on cloud computing, ICT, and IoT technologies, including observation, network, data, platform, application, and user layers. The solution unified systems for data sharing, intelligent analysis, warning, object tracking, and incident processing, while also improving surveillance with video analytics, RFID, and ID information uploads. As a result, Karamay improved public security efficiency, strengthened emergency response and crime prevention, increased citizen satisfaction, and supported local ICT and economic development.
