Chinese Medicine’s Data Center Cure

Wenzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, affiliated with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, needed to modernize its growing data center network to support expanding medical, teaching, and research services. The hospital faced pressure from low server utilization, rising infrastructure demands, and the need for a highly reliable, 24/7 network connecting internal systems such as HIS, LIS, PACS, and ERM with external government networks. Huawei was brought in to help build a future-oriented, cloud-ready data center architecture.

Huawei implemented a high-availability active-active data center solution using CE12800 data center switches, CSS virtualization, TRILL, and EVN for inter-data-center Layer 2 connectivity and virtual machine mobility. The result was a scalable, easier-to-manage network with improved bandwidth usage, better server resource utilization, and uninterrupted service availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, helping Huawei deliver an “always on” data center environment for the hospital.
