China Unicom-Guizhou Chooses Huawei’s Modular Data Center Infrastructure

China Unicom-Guizhou needed to build a large-scale cloud data center in Guizhou to support fast-growing demand for smart city, VR, AI, and big data services, while also meeting a short construction timeline and reducing energy consumption. To address these challenges, Huawei provided its Modular Data Center (MDC) infrastructure, including UPS, cabinets, power distribution, air conditioning, and cabling components.

Huawei’s modular, prefabricated MDC solution enabled fast deployment, simplified expansion, and improved efficiency and reliability for the China Unicom-Guizhou Guian Cloud Data Center. The project delivered 62 micro-modules within 6 months, reduced construction time by more than 30 percent, and brought the data center’s PUE down to 1.3, helping China Unicom lower costs and operate a leading-edge green data center.
