CEPSA Uses High-Performance SAP HANA System on Huawei Servers

CEPSA, a major Spanish petroleum and chemical company, needed a faster and more cost-effective way to analyze large volumes of operational data and support its ERP, exploration, production, and finance systems. Its traditional database and UNIX-based architecture could not keep up with business growth, while procurement and maintenance costs were high. Huawei provided SAP HANA solutions built on its FusionServer 8100 V3 and 5885 V3 rack servers, along with ES3000 SSD storage.

Huawei implemented a stable SAP HANA environment for CEPSA using 8-socket and 4-socket Huawei servers for production and development/testing workloads. The new platform improved ERP and OLAP performance, doubled the number of transactions the financial analysis system could process, and delivered a highly reliable system with a failure rate 15% lower than the industry average. Huawei also helped CEPSA lower total cost of ownership through x86-based, modular, easily expandable hardware and global service support.
