Case Study: China Everbright Bank achieves secure wireless banking with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the China Everbright Bank Case Study

Building a Wired/Wireless Network for Banking

China Everbright Bank, one of China’s largest banks, needed to upgrade its Kunming branch outlets from traditional wired networks to a secure and flexible wireless environment without interrupting existing services. The bank also wanted unified wired/wireless management and strong security for financial transactions, while opening network access to customers. Huawei provided the networking solution, including AC6605 access control and PoE-based wireless connectivity.

Huawei implemented a wireless network built on the bank’s existing wired infrastructure, using S5700 PoE switches at outlets, an AC6605 controller in bypass mode, USG2210 firewall protection, and dual-SSID authentication for employees and customers. The solution added encrypted communication, rogue AP detection, and integrated wired/wireless management through Huawei eSight. As a result, China Everbright Bank was able to launch secure public Wi‑Fi for customers, support online banking and information access in branch lobbies, and preserve uninterrupted operation of its existing network services.
