Case Study: Brazilian Government achieves faster, more reliable eGov networking with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Brazilian Government Case Study

Brazil and Huawei Upgrade eGov Network

The Brazilian Government, through the Planalto Palace in Brasília, needed to modernize a legacy government network that could no longer support growing demand. Huawei faced challenges including bandwidth bottlenecks, high latency, broadcast storms, packet loss, video freezing, and intermittent voice service across more than 5,000 workers, 7,000 PCs, and 3,000 IP phones. The old multi-vendor network was difficult to manage and recover when faults occurred.

Huawei implemented the Agile Campus Network Solution, rebuilding the network in just three months with an upgraded architecture using S9706 core switches, S6700 aggregation switches, S5700 access switches, and SVF technology. The result was a major performance improvement, with desktop access bandwidth rising from 100 Mbit/s to 1,000 Mbit/s, full 10 GE access-layer interconnections, better audio/video quality, eliminated network disconnections, and lower O&M costs. Huawei also helped the Brazilian Government move toward its goal of cutting annual administrative spending by 20%.
