Bank Cashes in with Huawei

Agricultural Bank of China, one of China’s largest commercial banks, needed a more cost-effective way to process rapidly growing volumes of structured and unstructured data for banking analytics and historical transaction queries. The bank wanted a Big Data platform that could support high-concurrency access, massive data analysis, and fast response times for customer and market insights, and worked with Huawei to evaluate Hadoop on x86 infrastructure.

Huawei provided an RH2288 V2-based distributed computing cluster for the bank’s Hadoop Big Data environment. Testing showed the solution could load 85 GB of data in 10 minutes, process 50 million time deposits in batches, and respond to 200 million transaction details and 600 concurrent queries within 40 ms. As a result, Agricultural Bank of China planned to deploy an additional 200 Huawei RH2288 V2 servers, while also reducing O&M costs by 40% and TCO by 20%.
