Bank Builds IT System with Huawei Servers

Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC), one of China’s largest retail banks, needed to modernize its IT infrastructure to support more than 40,000 outlets and over 500 million customers. As its business expanded, the bank faced rising O&M costs, insufficient data center space, high energy consumption, and limited scalability from its midrange and rack-server environment. Huawei was brought in to help address these challenges.

Huawei implemented a new IT system for PSBC using E9000 converged architecture blade servers, RH5885 V2 four-socket servers, and RH2288H V2 two-socket servers, supported by Huawei eSight management tools. The solution improved consolidation, simplified management, and boosted performance and reliability, while reducing energy use by 20% to 40% versus traditional 2U rack servers. Huawei also cut O&M expenses by 60% and lowered total cost of ownership by more than 30%, while doubling performance and delivering 2x faster responsiveness in testing.
