Case Study: Civil Aviation Administration of China achieves reliable HD telepresence and easier video conferencing with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Civil Aviation Administration of China Case Study

Aviation Agency Stays in Touch with Telepresence

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), which manages civil aviation across seven regional authorities and 41 airports, needed a better way to support emergency response, service delivery, consultation, and training. Its existing 2003 videoconferencing system suffered from low CIF video quality, complicated operation, and high maintenance requirements, making it difficult to use without specialized technical support.

Huawei addressed these issues with a full HD telepresence solution, deploying TP3118S telepresence in CAAC headquarters, TP3106 systems in regional authorities, and single-screen HD videoconferencing systems for regional authorities and airports, all connected through a shared Huawei MCU. Huawei also added intuitive touch-panel control and redundant system components for high availability. As a result, CAAC gained 1080p HD meetings with directional sound and content sharing, faster decision-making, higher productivity, lower operating costs, and the ability for staff to run video conferences themselves without a technician.
