APT Satellite Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed satellite services provider, wanted to expand from transponder and broadcasting services into cloud computing. To support new IaaS and PaaS offerings, it needed a secure, highly available data center network with strong performance, easy maintenance, and room for growth over the next decade, while also integrating with its satellite backup infrastructure and multiple ISP connections.

Huawei designed and delivered the cloud data center network using CE12800 series core switches and NE40E series core routers, along with a ring-based STP architecture for resilience and multi-ISP connectivity. With Huawei’s solution, APT completed phase one of its cloud computing data center, deploying UPS, environmental controls, and multi-layer access monitoring, and established uninterrupted 24/7 service with immediate failover to backup power, line, or satellite systems.
