A Huawei Case Study
Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) needed to modernize its aging network to keep pace with Internet and mobile banking competitors in China. Its existing setup, split across two separate networks and 13 service zones, could not deliver new applications and services quickly enough, so ABC turned to Huawei for an upgrade that would support a more agile, application-centric infrastructure.
Huawei designed and implemented a converged, virtual network using its CloudEngine Switch as the backbone, enabling on-demand switching, automated monitoring, and stronger security. The new network cut ABC’s service zones from 13 to 5, increased core capacity from 2.5 Gbit/s to 10 Gbit/s with a path to 100 Gbit/s, and reduced maintenance expenses by more than 50%, helping ABC launch new Internet services faster.
