Case Study: Amsterdam Arena achieves agile stadium Wi‑Fi coverage with Huawei

A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Amsterdam Arena Case Study

Agile Wi-Fi Stadium Network Scores Big

Amsterdam ArenA needed a stadium-wide Wi-Fi network that could reliably serve tens of thousands of spectators, staff, and VIP users across a very large venue. The challenge was high user density, massive network scale, and support for many different services such as video playback, social media, fan interaction, internet access, and stadium management. Huawei was brought in to help deliver the required coverage and capacity, using its Agile networking technology.

Huawei implemented an agile campus solution built on S12700 Agile Switches, ENP high-density cards with native access controller functions, and AP6510DN dual-band access points managed centrally by the Agile Controller. The solution delivered 100% signal coverage, supported up to 256 users per AP, and provided fine-grained security and policy control for more than 6,000 applications. As a result, Amsterdam ArenA gained reliable high-density connectivity, better service quality for VIPs and key applications, and a scalable network design that reduced deployment workload.
