A Huawei Case Study

Preview of the Jingyang District Education Bureau Case Study

Agile Educational Network Gets High Grades

Jingyang District Education Bureau in Deyang City, Sichuan Province, needed to close the education resource gap between urban and rural schools and support rapidly growing bandwidth and user demands across more than 50 schools. It turned to Huawei to build a secure, reliable educational Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) that could unify Internet access, support centralized authentication for teachers and students, and provide consistent access for users across different locations and devices.

Huawei implemented an SDN-based, two-layer MAN using Agile Switches, Agile Controller, Next-Generation Firewalls, and VPN devices, with S12700 Series switches at the core and S7700/S5700 switches at schools. The solution delivered centralized policy control, stronger security isolation, high availability through redundancy and clustering, and a better user experience for teaching and remote access. As a result, Jingyang District gained a district-wide platform for applications such as OA, online classes, VoD, exams, and electronic school bags, improving teaching efficiency and enabling broader resource sharing.
