A schoolwide wireless network based around Huawei technology helps Wellfild Middle School increase student achievement

Wellfield Middle School, a middle school in the UK, faced the challenge of expanding access to technology beyond its single computer room. The school needed a reliable, schoolwide wireless network to support new iPads and Chromebooks, enabling mobile learning across its campus and overcoming the limitations of its old building with thick walls.

The solution, implemented by Huawei partner Aegis, used a Huawei AR1200 series router, S5700 enterprise switches, and AP5010 access points to create a robust and scalable Wi-Fi network. This Huawei infrastructure provided full coverage, including outdoor areas, and resulted in improved student access to ICT, increased teaching efficiency, and greater student engagement with new learning tools. The scalable system can now support future growth up to 300 simultaneous users.
