A Huawei Case Study
Guangdong Power Grid Corporation (GPGC) needed a high-performance, safe, and reliable storage environment to support its power dispatching and communication center as services grew and existing 1 Gbit/s storage devices became insufficient. The company also needed stronger disaster recovery capability, including a unified storage resource pool and protection across multiple data centers.
Huawei implemented a storage virtualization-based storage system with three data centers across two cities: a production site, a local DR site, and a remote DR site. The solution consolidated heterogeneous storage resources into a centralized pool, enabled synchronous mirroring for intra-city recovery, and used asynchronous replication for remote backup to Zhaoqing, improving utilization, simplifying management, and ensuring more reliable power dispatching operations for GPGC’s millions of customers.
