21Vianet Uses Data Center Service Solution

21Vianet Group, China’s largest third-party Internet infrastructure provider, needed to upgrade a cloud data center in Beijing to improve stability, security, reliability, and operating efficiency while supporting hosting and sensitive data storage. Huawei provided its Data Center Integration Services Solution to help reduce the center’s total cost of ownership and prepare the site for future business growth.

Huawei used a SAFE-based design approach to plan, design, verify, and implement a modular, scalable data center tailored to 21Vianet’s hosting, cloud, CDN, and network management needs. The project included unified management and monitoring, energy-efficient cooling and power design, and lab validation, resulting in a service-oriented architecture, lower OPEX and TCO, and a PUE of less than 1.4, while also shortening time-to-market.
