Packaging supplier streamlines EHS solution — one platform, many solutions

Vanguard Companies, a Kansas City–based corrugated merchandising and packaging supplier with over 200 employees, faced fragmented training and compliance processes—relying on in-person training, paper forms, and manual audits across multiple departments—which caused inefficiencies, errors, and heavy administrative burden. To address these challenges they selected HSI, implementing HSI’s Learning Management System (LMS) and the HSI EHS platform to centralize training, documentation, and safety compliance.

HSI deployed the LMS first and then added EHS modules—Incident Management, Document Management, and Vendor Management—creating connected workflows that automated monthly audits, eliminated paper forms, streamlined corrective-action training assignments, and enabled vendor risk rating. The HSI solution improved usability and cross-team adoption, saved administrator time, and helped Vanguard pass a recent three-year recertification audit for three ISO standards while making reporting and audit responses faster and more accurate.
