A HSI Case Study
Lamb Weston, a global leader in frozen potato products with over 10,000 employees, needed to standardize training for engineers who build, retrofit, and repair complex food‑processing systems. The content included advanced math, diagnostics, and specialized part specifications, and delivering intensive live training to a nationwide, mobile engineering workforce looked prohibitively expensive. HSI was engaged to address both the technical complexity and the logistical challenge using a custom online training approach.
HSI conducted research, then developed and deployed a custom online Safety Training System with two targeted courses featuring short films, interactive graphics, technical writing, and options for mentoring with senior engineers. Delivered on mobile devices with realtime tracking and simplified administration, the HSI solution made complex calculations understandable, standardized learning across the engineering team, and served as an on‑demand reference. Lamb Weston reported strong positive feedback, reduced travel, per diem and lost‑productivity costs, shorter troubleshooting time, and lower operational expense as measurable benefits.
